Osang Gwon's "Small Sculptures" is an art book containing Gwon's sculpture works inspired by 24 heures du Mans (The 24 Hours of Le Mans), one of the 3 famous races in the world. The race won by a racer who completes the most number of laps within the 24 hours, the most important aspect of the race is the durability of the car. This series, a result of Gwon’s love of the race, will highlight 50 of the historical race cars that have been reduced to the 1:43 ratio.
Gwon’s “Small Sculptures” are currently being exhibited at “PAF: Final Cut” exhibition at Arario Seoul, as one of the boundary-crossing works that expands the limits of design, fashion and art. The exhibition continues until May 16th.
Gwon is born in Seoul in 1974, graduating BFA and MFA in Sculpture, Hongik University. He has been working with photography examining sculpture as a medium throughout his career.
