Analia Saban, born in Argentina and based on LA, works in exploration and experimentation of materials used in art and its traditional conception of media. “Woven Vertical Reflected Linear Gradient as Weft(Center, White)” is created for her solo exhibition at Arario Gallery Seoul in 2019; Saban weaved lines of solidified acrylic paints like textile and placed it on top of a canvas. Through this process, the artist questions what painting is and expands the limit of textile. According to the artist, the monochromatic style of the work can also be seen as homage to Lee Ufan, one of the artists she was deeply inspired by.
