Current exhibition
介绍
ARARIO GALLERY SEOUL is pleased to present Glorious Ear, a solo exhibition by BAEK Eunha, on view from June 18 (Wed) to August 2 (Sat), 2025. ARARIO has long been dedicated to supporting artists based on Jeju Island, Korea. In line with this ongoing focus, the exhibition highlights BAEK’s recent practice, which features dreamlike compositions crafted from a rich blend of materials—natural dyes extracted from flowers and fruits, nostalgic objects such as flower petals and Hanok window lattices, traditional Korean papers like hanji and jangji, as well as oil pastels and powdered pigments. BAEK’s work originates from intimate childhood memories and gradually unfolds into visual narratives that explore emotional resonance and the connection between humans and nature. The title Glorious Ear refers to the shape of a rose, which the artist likens to a human ear, emphasizing the beauty of attentively and sincerely listening to one another in our relationships. Born in 1972 in Chuncheon, BAEK studied Korean Literature at Kangwon National University and currently lives and works in Jeju. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions in New York, Sapporo, Jeju, and Seoul, and she has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including the 3rd Gwangju Design Biennale (2009). She has also published several books featuring her paintings, photographs, and writings.
