CHOI Byoungso (82) has been erasing newspapers with a ballpoint pen since 1975 in Daegu, once a cradle of experimental art. As an act of resistance against censorship and to endure boredom physically, he transformed newspapers into jet-black surfaces, resembling ink-stained rice cakes, and displayed them in galleries.
