As part of the DMZ OPEN Festival, Gyeonggi Province is hosting the contemporary art exhibition “DMZ OPEN: UNDO DMZ” across the Paju area until November 5. (...) The exhibition’s title, “UNDO DMZ,” was inspired by artist Yang Hae-Gyu’s 2020 work DMZ Flight. While “undo” is commonly translated as “to reverse” or “to undo,” it also carries meanings such as “to open” or “to untie.” The exhibition reflects on the paradoxical reality of the DMZ — a place scarred by war and division, yet where human access restrictions have allowed wilderness and biodiversity to recover. It seeks to invite viewers to imagine new possibilities through art.
