The Jeonnam Provincial Museum of Art is hosting an experimental exhibition titled Occupy: We Are Connected, We Occupy through September 3. The exhibition aims to reexamine the sense of solidarity through contemporary artistic practices that emphasize participation, community, and collective memory. (...) The second part of the exhibition features works by artists engaged in community-oriented and participatory art. Indonesian artist Eko NUGROHO, known internationally for his large-scale murals, presents pieces that activate public space and promote civic dialogue. Lee Sehyun, a native of Gokseong in Jeollanam-do, explores the temporal and realistic dimensions of photography to trace the lingering traces of historical and social events. Also featured is the female artist duo Kang Suji and Lee Hayoung, whose collaborative work revisits the contexts of memory and resistance from the perspective of a younger generation, visualizing contemporary social sensibilities through mixed media and installation. Through these diverse practices, the exhibition reflects on how art can reconnect fragmented communities and recover the shared sensibility of solidarity.
