In the wake of what swept through, the scene still floats in the air.

The solo exhibition Layered by An Gyungsu, on view at Arario Museum Seoul through 18 January 2026, presents a form of ruin landscape painting. Places on the margins and sites left in ruin once existed with certainty, yet now remain as places that no longer exist. One example is the black pit inside an unfinished and abandoned construction site that stood for years in Hamdeok, Jeju. It embodies the feeling of failure and despair, a vast sense of absence that must one day be filled.
