The Pohang Museum of Steel Art presents a contemporary art exhibition that reflects on the trajectories of life through sand and steel, two materials that shape the identity of Pohang

Held in Gallery 2, the 2026 collection exhibition POMA Collection: Steel Sculpture features 17 steel sculptures from the museum’s collection. The exhibition is structured into three sections, using the idea of a single human life as its guiding framework. Beginning with Birth, the exhibition explores moments where discarded metal is transformed into the framework of life itself. It then moves into Life, a period of growth shaped by relationships, joy and wounds that accumulate on the body over time. Finally, The Afterlife considers death not as an end, but as a passage into another realm.

Through works by leading figures in the history of Korean contemporary sculpture such as Jung Hyun, UM Tai Jung, Cho Sung Muk and Choi Man Rin, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the sensation of being alive and on what continues even after life has passed.
