Insane PARK, Avant-Garde Does Not Surrender

Park Hyunju, Newsis, 2025年10月13日

Arario Gallery Seoul presents Avant-Garde Does Not Surrender, a solo exhibition by Insane Park , on view from October 16 to December 6. In this exhibition, the artist unfolds a humorous visual experiment that subverts the authority and control systems of institutional art, centering on his representative work Disposable Mask for Amateur Vandals: INSTRUCTION MANUAL.

The work takes the form of a manual, illustrating how to vandalize a museum, evade security guards, and cover one’s face with a plastic bag. Though it resembles a guide to criminal acts, it is in fact an institution-critical infographic—a satirical commentary on artistic resistance and anonymity. Through such vandalistic devices, Insane Park explores the paradoxical tension between destruction and creation, authority and resistance, ultimately demonstrating that art remains a language capable of distorting and redefining reality.
