A solo exhibition by artist LEE Eunsil is currently on view at ARARIO GALLERY in Jongno, Seoul. Having experienced childbirth herself, the artist renders the intense struggle faced by a woman during labor through metaphorical ink and color paintings.
Among the highlights is the large scale work Epidural Moment, which vividly evokes the hallucinatory sensations she experienced at the instant spinal anesthesia was administered. The piece unfolds in a mysterious visual language, featuring colossal animals, vast natural forces, and fragmented forms of exposed bone. The exhibition runs through January 31.
