Is Photography Eternal?… BEAK Jungki’s Art Meets Science in 'is of'

"Is photography a medium of record that can last forever?"

This very question is what inspired artist BEAK Jungki (44). Since 2007, he has been exploring themes such as healing, preservation, regeneration, nature, and desire. Over time, he began to deconstruct the notion that photography is "eternal and unchanging." His work challenges the assumption that photographs are immutable records.

BEAK Jungki's solo exhibition "is of," presented as part of the Arario Museum’s spring exhibition program on April 18, suggests that everything, in accordance with the natural order, is subject to change and eventual disappearance.
