Works by WON Seoung Won, the recipient of this year’s DongGang Photography Award, are also featured in the exhibition. What may appear from afar as purely natural landscapes reveal themselves, upon closer inspection, to be surreal spaces—hybrids of nature and artificiality that could not exist in reality. Though she works with photography as her primary medium, her meticulous compositions reflect a painterly precision and density.
