LEE Jeongbae, Form of Living

A defining element of the exhibition is LEE Jeongbae’s two dimensional works placed among the furniture. Abstract landscape paintings such as Deep Green and More Than One, finished in monochrome tones, resonate with the linear structure of the furniture and add visual depth. The furniture becomes an extension of the paintings, while the paintings become the backdrop of the living environment shaped by the furniture. Ultimately, the question posed by Living is clear: How are we structuring our daily lives through aesthetics? The artist invites viewers to remove unnecessary layers and apply the final glaze of the user’s warmth and time onto the remaining flat surface.

The seventeen pieces of furniture installed in the exhibition space stand ready to return at any moment to someone’s living room or study. Rather than elevating everyday life, LEE Jeongbae’s furniture quietly affirms that daily life itself can already exist as a complete and singular aesthetic form.
