PARK Youngsook, Look, That Woman Sings and Dances

A “wayward” woman who has abandoned housework and childcare paints her nails and stares straight ahead. Another woman, with nothing to hold, clutches a satin pillow and gazes blankly into the air. There is also a woman who bursts into laughter as she loosens the ties of her hanbok skirt, her chest released from its constriction. The exhibition space is filled with images of women whom society has long pointed at and condemned as “mad women.”
