Through the provocative motif of the “mad woman,” the artist reveals the suppressed realities faced by women and visualizes their subjectivity and anger.
The photomontage work Witch also evokes the long history of women’s oppression. Drawing on the motif of the witch burnings in the West, the piece carries a message that seeks to recall and console the memories of women who were oppressed and sacrificed.
