"I always wanted to make a painting that can soothe the heart and soul. I do not know where the essence of the heart and soul lies, because the harder I try to analyze and find, the less traceable it is. But the heart and soul do exist, they exist within our feelings. Therefore, I immerse myself in these feelings, hoping to create a painting that embraces them, and liberate the heart and soul within this state of feelings. The hand and brush are led by the heart, erasing all empirical intentions, leaving only nonentity and starkness. Maybe that is exactly what the heart seeks. Art has nothing to do with regular experience and meaning. The essence of art is hidden behind such nonentity and starkness."
