LEE Jihyun, Fantasma: Restless Silence

Following the seasons marked by the names of constellations, the artist began copying manuscripts as a way of communicating across time and space. She layered places that hold her own memories and traces of her life over scenes once occupied by the everyday lives of medieval peasants and the landscapes of the nobility. Feelings of alienation and anxiety experienced as a stranger, along with images of dolls she made with her child, are vividly rendered on canvas. These works are presented in her solo exhibition Fantasma: Restless Silence, her first solo exhibition in four years, at ARARIO GALLERY SEOUL.
