Christoph RUCKHABERLE's "Django" resembles a theatrical scene from a play, in which the movement of the figures in the painting appears staged. The "actors" in the scene disclose their skeletal structures behind their decorative costumes. Behind them, stand buildings layered with vivid colors and patterns, which function as backdrops from a stage set. The artist's practice is devoted to expressing scenes from transitional periods that embody instantaneous and momentary gratification, melancholia, and unknown sorrow.
