“Ritual-Ceremony” is one of the drawings created for Chen Yujun’s first solo exhibition in Korea at Arario Gallery Seoul. He presented series of drawings along with large paintings and collages, in which all start from the most private and personal experience of the artist. Like keeping a diary, everyday he made drawings in a sketchbook since 2007. From the drawings, he selected just a few and made artworks collaged onto newspaper. The personal stories of the sketches becomes part of the newspaper, illustrating what constitutes society is everyday people.
