"Connecting the Memory and Future of Space: Minibus, Oort Cloud, Fluttering pages"

(...) Upon entering, one encounters GWON Osang’s work Margin of Error for a Glitch Composed of 1,800 Images (2001), which appears to replicate a “minibus” in sculptural form. First presented at his debut solo exhibition at Insa Art Space in 2001, GWON’s so-called “photo sculptures” explore the relationship between two contrasting media: the flat, lightweight nature of photography and the solid, voluminous quality of sculpture. Composed of photographs capturing small fragments of the subject, the surface of the sculpture is not perfectly seamless—it is slightly misaligned. This intentional displacement creates a strong sense of parallax and motion.
