The faces of characters resembling the protagonists of the animations Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell fill the screen. Seated in cockpits as if engaged in battle, they gaze forward with tense expressions. The space, crowded with characters that feel both familiar and unfamiliar, seems closer to a virtual world than to reality. This is the scene from artist Ok Seungcheol’s solo exhibition Prototype, currently on view at the Lotte Museum of Art in Jamsil, Seoul.
