LEE Jinju, Discontinuouscontinuity

Artist LEE Jinju’s solo exhibition “Discontinuouscontinuity” opens on August 13 at ARARIO GALLERY SEOUL in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Specializing in and teaching traditional Korean painting, LEE presents 54 recent and new works across the gallery’s entire space, capturing unfamiliar scenes, objects, and landscapes encountered in everyday life with meticulous brushwork rooted in traditional coloring techniques. In her works, figures, stones, trees, and other subjects are rendered with extraordinary precision and clarity, almost as if real. In contrast, the relationships between these subjects are fragmented and surreal, depicted through structures resembling veils or through fragments of the body such as hands and faces.
