GWON Osang, who has consistently challenged the weight and materiality traditionally associated with sculpture through his “Photo Sculpture” practice, now turns to Reclining Figure, one of the defining works of 20th century modernist sculptor Henry Moore, and reinterprets it through his own lens.
GWON Osang’s solo exhibition, Hybrid Abstract Scene, is on view at Shinsegae Gallery Daegu through November 8. Bringing together 22 works, including his latest series and key pieces from his practice, the exhibition traces the evolution and expansion of his Photo Sculpture, from the Deodorant Type series to Reclining Figure.
