"This work is a parody for how we are never free from the language of democracy but actually we are spitting on democracy itself, denying democracy to become something un-democratic. In this work, Nugroho shows very cynical attitude toward war and peace today. We have all been dreaming “peace” and now somewhat achieved it through democracy, but we are still at ideological war with each other. Nugroho tried to convey the feeling of something missing in the current state, by painting the state of chaos. In the background of the embroidery, a chaotic kingdom comes into power with mountain of hopes. Cut and duplicated landscapes representing the ideological chaos. The artist sees beauty but also is lost in the process."
