[News] White Cube Seoul Opening Exhibition..."Attention" by Korean artist LEE Jinju.

"The Embodied Spirit," which opened on the 5th of last month at the White Cube in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, is a rare case. This is a Korean branch set up on the first floor of Horim Art Center by White Cube, one of the world's top galleries. White Cube Global Art Director Susan May, a former Tate Modern Curator, attempted to curate.

The inclusion of Korean artist LEE Jinju in the line-up is also a feature of the exhibition. The "Black Painting" series (photo), which depicts fragmented bodies such as hands and faces in detail on a high purity black background, was hung. The gallery said it was not a "Korean quota" that looked at domestic collectors and audiences. Curator Susan May said, "He's one of the most interesting artists we're paying attention to." The exhibition runs through December 12.
