A futile struggle… Is this what we have always called “life”?

The collaborative works Planet [Wanderer], the dance film Mist, and the showcase Prism by Belgian choreographer Damien Jalet and Japanese sculptor Kohei NAWA were presented at GS Arts Center from the 24th to the 28th. The collaboration brings together Jalet's exploration of the relationship between matter and the human body and NAWA's desire to "make materials dance."

Among these works, Planet takes its name from the ancient Greek word planaomai, meaning "to wander." On stage, slime, mist, and potato starch merge with the performers' bodies, giving rise to entirely new landscapes. As Jalet remarked during the press conference before the performances, the guiding principle of the work is simple: "Dance first. Think later." That philosophy unfolds directly on stage.
