Bodies bend, sink, and collapse. Figures standing in water, crouched forms folded into themselves, and bodies gazing at their own reflections appear less as fixed identities than as emotional or psychological states. Rather than telling a specific story, the works draw viewers into scenes marked by lingering unease and tension. They unfold as psychological landscapes where conceptual ideas and painting converge, recalling aspects of European painting.
Discarded Host, a solo exhibition by KANG Cheolgyu at ARARIO GALLERY SEOUL, blurs the boundary between reality and fiction to present new psychological landscapes.
